Dr. Michael Jaffe, currently works at Interventional Spine and Pain Management with offices in Murray and Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr Jaffe’s clinical expertise include back pain, sciatica, neck pain, nerve injuries, and musculoskeletal/sports medicine. Dr. Jaffe provides expert medical opinions for plaintiff and defense attorneys. He works with the Utah Labor Commission, chairing medical panels offering medical opinions about contested Worker’s Compensation claims. 

He is a Boston native, and earned a bachelors degree. from Tufts University and his medical doctorate from University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed medical internship at the University of Utah. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) training at New York University and the University of Utah. Residing in Utah since 1997, Dr. Jaffe is a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine.  He is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. 

He worked over 20 years at Intermountain’s Salt Lake Clinic, where he collaborated with orthopedic and spine surgeons, radiologists, neurologists, and physical therapists. During this time he was an active contributor to Intermountain’s clinical practice guidelines for low back pain, neck pain and chronic pain. He consulted for Selecthealth insurance to improve coverage guidelines for Pain Management and PM&R. 

His lecture topics include low back pain, chronic pain, radicular pain and radiofrequency ablation.

Beyond his professional pursuits, he is passionate about family, skiing, hiking, yoga, nature, music, and plant-centered whole food nutrition.
