Dr. Michael Jaffe, a Boston native, attended Tufts University and University of Massachusetts Medical School. Following his medical internship at the University of Utah he started Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency at New York University, then transferred to the University of Utah for the final two year. Residing in Utah since 1997, Dr. Jaffe is a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine.  He is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner. 

He worked over 20 years at Intermountain Salt Lake Clinic, where he collaborated with orthopedic and spine surgeons, radiologists, neurologists, and physical therapists. During this time he was an active contributor to Intermountain’s clinical practice guidelines for low back pain, neck pain and chronic pain. He consulted for Selecthealth insurance to develop coverage guidelines for Pain Management and PM&R. He worked for the Utah Labor Commission, chairing medical panels offering medical opinions on contested Worker’s Compensation claims. Dr Jaffe has been providing expert medical opinions to plaintiff and defense attorneys over the last decade. His lecture topics include low back pain, chronic pain and nerve pain. 

Currently, he works at Interventional Spine and Pain Management in Murray and Salt Lake City Utah. Dr Jaffe’s clinical expertise include back pain, sciatica, neck pain and musculoskeletal/sports medicine. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is passionate about family, sports, exercise, mountains, forests, nature, music, and plant-centric whole food nutrition.
